According to USDA cultivation data and agricultural reporting, there are two primary outdoor cultivation regions in the United States: the Western Region, composed of Hawaii and Oregon, and the Ozarks Region, including the Arkansas cities of Fayetteville, Springdale, Lowell, Eureak Springs, Siloam Springs, Roger, and Bentonville. USDA survey data for 2007 show that 89 percent (5,262 of 5,901) of outdoor plants catalouged by the USDA were grown in these seven states.
